Formed in 1997, based in Bristol, and with fifty seven productions to its credit, Stepping Out Theatre is the country's leading mental health theatre group. It has produced a wide range of work on mental health themes and is open to people who have used mental health services and their allies.

On Sunday 27th November 2016, a hardy group of Stepping Out members completed the sixth Annual Sponsored Walk from Fromeside to the Alma Tavern Theatre symbolising our collective journey from struggles with mental health to recovery through the healing power of theatre.

Our autumn / winter drama workshop programme is open to people aged 16yrs and over who have experienced mental health issues, their carers and allies. No experience necessary. Travel expenses covered.

Workshops will be delivered by Viki Browne, an experienced performer and workshop leader who has made and performed work about her own mental illness. In the workshops, we will be working with personal stories to put together short drama pieces with mental health themes.
