Formed in 1997, based in Bristol, and with sixty three productions to its credit, Stepping Out Theatre is the country's leading mental health theatre group. It has produced a wide range of work on mental health themes and is open to people who have used mental health services and their allies.
Mark Rylance, Patron
"The work Stepping Out Theatre is doing should be supported by all interested in a society that is healthy. Stepping Out understands and does not shy away from the possibility that theatre, the ancient art of these islands North West of Europe, is a transformative and healing activity which brings joy into people's lives. If you want to hear something true, go and hear what Stepping Out Theatre are saying. I only found myself in theatre, and I hear that Stepping Out is helping other people do the same. I have great hopes for this company and deep respect for what they are doing right now."
Baroque & Roll
A very special one day music festival at a spectacular location
Featuring from 2pm
The Ardeton String Quartet
with a special programme of Baroque Music
Working with local mental health service users to create live music, Mind Your Music are the country's leading mental health music group. This is their third Arts Council funded project following on from the Temple of Harmony Gig last year which saw them mount a one day music festival at a classical folly building in a beautiful location near Goathurst in Somerset.
One of Bristol's leading quartets since 2001, the Ardeton Quartet continue to wow audiences across the UK and beyond with detailed and exciting performances of music in just about every style and setting imaginable. Equally at home on the concert platform, a wedding reception or a rock venue, their consistently high standard of performance and enthusiasm has made them a favorite with local audiences.
Stepping Out Theatre are the country's leading mental health theatre company. Their production of The Provoked Wife at Kings Weston House in 2017 was a sellout success, and their more recent production of The Rise and Fall of Ronald J. Dump at the same venue highlighted local environmental concerns.

Spectacular Success of New Big Show!
The Rise and Fall of Ronald J. Dump has become the most successful 'big show' in Stepping Out's 21 year history of mounting these ambitious productions which have put hundreds of local service users onstage for the first time over that period. Ticket sales and audience numbers this year were our highest ever for a production of this type.
Interviews with 'Made in Bristol TV' which you can see below tell more about the background of the production.

Mick Jagger came to see our production of Great Apes and enjoyed it so much that he tweeted about his experience.
